Feature Pillar
Events & Volunteers
Most churches run volunteer scheduling through a group text chain or a shared spreadsheet, and both break down the moment more than two people touch them. Faith Members gives every event a real sign-up sheet, automatic reminders, and a volunteer roster that tracks who is reliable, who is overcommitted, and who hasn't served in months.
What it does
Events, from a Sunday service to a VBS week to a building workday , get a structured sign-up flow with role-based slots, automatic reminder texts, and no-show tracking. Volunteer coordinators get a single dashboard instead of a dozen group chats.
Concrete capabilities
- Role-based sign-ups. Define the exact roles an event needs, greeters, nursery, sound, parking, and let volunteers self-schedule into open slots instead of being individually chased down.
- Automatic reminders, not nagging. Volunteers get a confirmation and a day-before reminder automatically; coordinators get an alert only when a slot is still unfilled 48 hours out.
- Burnout protection. The system surfaces volunteers serving in three or more roles weekly so a coordinator can proactively check in before they quit altogether.
- Background check and training tracking. Roles that require a background check or a specific training (nursery, student ministry) can't be filled by someone whose check has lapsed , enforced automatically, not by memory.
- Recurring event templates. A weekly service or a monthly outreach can be templated once and regenerated automatically, carrying forward the same role structure without rebuilding it each time.
Why it matters
Volunteer scheduling failures are rarely about willingness, they're about coordination overhead. A system that removes the back-and-forth of "who's covering nursery this week" gives coordinators their time back and gives volunteers a clear, low-friction way to show up.
